About Us

Greetings, fellow healthcare professionals, both present and future!

Welcome to Nurse Code! I'm Catherine, the founder, and I'm thrilled to have you here.

As a qualified Registered Nurse with a background in emergency nursing, I've worked in various medical and surgical settings across both rural and tertiary facilities. I understand the challenges that come with working in healthcare first hand.

The idea for Nurse Code was born during my time as a facilitator for a group of nursing students in the emergency department. I remember my own days as a nursing student, carrying around a pocket notebook and creating my own laminated reference cards. Let's face it, university can be overwhelming, and it's challenging to remember everything!

As healthcare workers, we often find ourselves spending a significant amount of time consulting reference guides, textbooks, flow charts, and online resources. We need quick access to essential information like vital sign ranges, common pathology values, or how to handle a medical emergency situation with our patients. It was during this period that I realised the scarcity of nursing-specific resources in Australia. Many available resources were specific to other countries or overloaded with irrelevant information. This discovery prompted me to take the plunge and develop my own clinical reference cards, which I believed would eventually serve as valuable learning tools for nursing students and professionals alike.

At Nurse Code, our mission is to create relevant, evidence-based nursing resources that provide health care professionals and students with easy access to the essential information they need, navigating the complexities of health care with confidence.

If you're seeking the ultimate tool to support you on your journey, look no further!

Once again, welcome to Nurse Code, and I wish you all the best!

Remember, you've got this!
